Rick
Abraham grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he attended both
Hoover Middle School and Eldorado High School prior to serving his
country in the United States Navy. While in the Navy, Rick was
trained in avionics and aircraft weapons systems. One of his many
collateral duties included Technical Publications Librarian and was
responsible for the accuracy of job-related manuals.
Upon
completion of his service, he returned home to Albuquerque and
attended the University of New Mexico, majoring in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and a minor
in Political Science. Rick
then entered the local workforce as a manager of both sales and
operations in the rental car industry. After facing a nationwide
layoff Rick then changed his career to the Information Technology
profession. This change nurtured his skill sets to include Personal
Computer and Printer repair, as well as Database Programming,
Networks and Website Design. Rick was also the Technical Service
Manager for a local repair shop. Concurrently, he was also a
freelance Information Technology Consultant for small and midsize
businesses.
Rick
became involved in politics in 2006 where he was elected
Ward Chairman and was appointed as the Communication Chairman for the Republican Party of
Bernalillo County. While in this
position Rick implemented a computerized system that included a
voter management system and modernized the intranet and internet to
improve constituent communications. Because of his efforts, the
preprimary conventions have been able to manage voter turn out more
efficiently and effectively than before.
Rick and his wife Teena
live in Albuquerque and have two t sons that attend High
School in the APS School District.
